Legendary Landscapes is owned and operated by Gareth Allen, a hands-on landscaper with 20 years of experience in the industry. Gareth started his landscaping career in 2006 right here on the Kapiti Coast before relocating to Nelson, where he spent several years honing his skills across construction, hard landscaping, soft landscaping and earthworks.

After gaining that invaluable experience, Gareth returned to the Kapiti Coast with his family and launched Legendary Landscapes in 2021 — bringing everything he’d learned back to the community where it all began. Today, the business specialises in paving, decking, retaining walls, concreting, earthworks and landscape design for both residential and commercial clients.

What sets Gareth apart is his personal involvement in every project. He’s not just quoting the work – he’s on site, leading the build, making sure the details are right. Whether it’s a complete outdoor transformation for a new build or a targeted upgrade to an existing property, clients can expect innovative designs, honest communication and a standard of workmanship that speaks for itself.

We’re proud to serve Paraparaumu, Paraparaumu Beach, Waikanae, Raumati, Otaki, Porirua and the wider region. For larger projects, we’re happy to work further afield as well.

Legendary Landscapes was built on 20 years of hands-on experience – from Gareth’s early days on the Kapiti Coast to the established business we are today.

2006
Where It All Started
Gareth Allen began his landscaping career on the Kapiti Coast, developing a passion for transforming outdoor spaces and learning the trade from the ground up
2006-2021
Building Expertise in Nelson
Gareth relocated to Nelson, where he spent years gaining deep experience across construction, hard landscaping, soft landscaping and earthworks — working on a wide range of residential and commercial projects.
December 2021
Legendary Landscapes Is Born
Gareth returned to the Kapiti Coast with his family and founded Legendary Landscapes Limited - bringing two decades of hands-on experience back to the community where his career began.
2022–Today
Growing on the Kapiti Coast
Today, Legendary Landscapes delivers expert paving, decking, retaining walls, concreting, earthworks and landscape design across Paraparaumu, Waikanae, Porirua, Otaki and the wider region. The business continues to grow on the back of quality workmanship and strong client relationships.
